Twist and Shout T-6054

Capitol of Canada released Twist and Shout T-6054 in February, 1964.  The very first pressing, which is the most desirable, can be recognized by the following:

The catalogue number on the top edge of the cover has no dash between the letter T and 6054
The cover may be missing the Parrs' printers logo.

A bright orange sticker exclaiming "Free! 8 X 10 PICTURE OF THE BEATLES INSIDE THIS ALBUM" was attached to the loose shrink wrap and is a rare find.

The glossy 8 x 10 picture comes with the album.

On albums released a little later in 1964 the catalogue number was corrected by the addition of the dash.  The sticker and photograph  were no longer available with the album, although additional photos were given away as a promotion or with a purchase.

Sales of the original LP with sticker and photograph are uncommon. In 2008 a copy in reasonable condition sold for $363 U.S. and a nice example sold in July 2021, for $760 U.S.

Twist and Shout was pressed on a variety of labels from 1964 through 1987 including true stereo versions beginning in 1980. Aside from the initial issue the most collectible pressings are the red target label from 1971-72 and the incredibly rare translucent Cinram pressing from early 1983. The latter is discussed in this blog entry:
