Starting with Beatlemania in 1964 the button or pin was a very popular fan item. Buttons and pins clearly expressed a fan's affinity for the group or an individual Beatle, they could be worn with a variety of clothes and were relatively cheap for a teenager to buy.
Today buttons and pins are a popular acquisition for the Beatles' collector. They are colorful, display well, are fairly common and relative to other Beatles' memorabilia, reasonably priced.

A number of original buttons and pins were made and sold in Canada although a great number were imported from the U.S. They range in size from 1" to 3.5". Most are tin and a few are plastic. Some were licensed while others were not.
Original early Canadian buttons and pin backs in excellent condition sell in the $15 to $50 range. Earlier pins usually sell in the higher range.
