Although "Something" was the designated A-side the initial Canadian pressings of this single had "Come Together" on the A-side and "Something" on the B-side.
The error was quickly caught and a new corrected pressing was released and distributed.
It has been proposed that very few miss-pressed copies were pressed, perhaps only 100, with the majority destroyed. Further, it is suggested that pressing plant employees "saved" the few copies that have surfaced.
While this theory has merit, the fact is that a number of copies of this single have been found across Canada suggesting that at least some copies were officially distributed. Based on this and the number I have come across I believe the suggestion that only 100 were pressed is low. Nevertheless, this is a rare Canadian Beatles collectible.
Based on sales over the last two years a VG+ to Excellent copy ranges in value from $80 to $120. A copy with NM labels and vinyl has a value closer to $200. Add $20 if the single comes with an original white "Beatles on Apple" sleeve as released.
Current values in for the miss-pressed Something.
