Capitol of Canada promotional cards 1964

Capitol of Canada released relatively few Beatles promotional items.  In late 1963 they produced a promotional card highlighting the "Beatlemania" L.P. that was probably intended for radio stations and industry insiders.

In 1964 they released two cards with B&W photos that promoted the Beatles' catalogue to fans.  Both were "freebies" that sat on the record counter for the taking or given away with a record.

The first is an approximately 6" X 3" card that promoted the "Twist and Shout" L.P. on the front side and listed the Beatles two Canadian L.P.'s and six singles on the back.  The card was issued late February, 1964.

The second, "The Beatles Jive Dictionary", is an approximately 4" X 8" card that lists Beatles Liverpool slang terms on the front and a list of their first three L.P.'s and first nine singles on the back.  This card would have been made available after April, 1964.

Both cards are hard to find.  Sometimes they can be found inside an early album cover or mounted in a fan's scrapbook.  The first card has a consistent value of approximately $30 - $40.  The "jive" card is a rarer and sells for an average of approximately $70 although a copy sold in July, 2020 for $350.
