Capitol Canada 5255 Match Box / Slow Down

Released in Canada in late August, 1964. Pressed by RCA with a stamped matrix using pressing parts sent from Capitol's U.S. Scranton plant.

Both Match Box and Slow Down were released on Capitol Canada's L.P. "Something New" a month earlier.  The release filled in for new product and featured Ringo, who was a very popular Beatle in the U.S. and Canada, on the A -side.  The single charted as high as #6 in Canada and #17 in the U.S.

In Canada the first few thousand copies of the single were released in an imported U.S. picture sleeve.

The sleeve featured an image from the Beatles' Ed Sullivan performance which was the same image used on the "Something New" L.P.

A near mint copy of the Capitol Canada single has a value of $25 to $45.  The single with a near mint copy of the imported U.S. sleeve has a value of  $100 to $150.
